Workshops 2025
Here are the wonderful workshops taking place at our upcoming event in July 2025.
Create a beautiful felted bowl using merino wool/silk. You will learn a 3d wet felting technique including how to use a resist and adding surface decoration. No prior skills are required.
This workshop is run by Lamorna Thomas who is an experienced feltermaker and tutor, and member of the International Feltmakers Association.
Discover the basics of crochet, from mastering the 3 essential stitches to creating your very own beautiful projects. You'll learn the stitches you need to know how to make cozy scarves, adorable amigurumi toys, and much more! You'll receive: a printed colour workbook; a 6mm crochet hook; 1 ball of Acrylic yarn to practice with; links to video tutorials of the information covered in the workshop.
The workshop is run by Fiona Field of Cosy Rosie UK who is an expert in crochet and a very experienced tutor.
COST: This workshop costs £20 which includes a 6mm crochet hook, a ball of yarn and a printed workbook.

Learn the basics of drop spindle spinning. We'll cover drafting and adding twist using a drop spindle to make yarn. We'll also talk about plying and finishing your yarn.
You'll go home with a kit, including a drop spindle, British wool fibre and instructions so you can practice your new skills at home.
The workshop is run by Fiona of A Little Bit Sheepish who is an experienced spinner, knitter, feltmaker and tutor.
COST: This workshop costs £28 which includes a drop spindle, 100g British wool fibre and an instruction sheet.

Get started with this exciting new skill. We'll cover the basics of Tunisian crochet, including how to get started, three types of stitch and how to finish off your project. During the class we will practice the stitches on a small swatch. You need to have basic crochet skills - how to make a chain and form crochet stitches. The class includes instructions and yarn to make a cowl or mitts using the stitches you have learnt. It also includes a Tunisian crochet hook.

As a knitter you may have wondered how to write a simple knitting pattern. In this workshop we will be looking at the areas you will need to look at to write your successful knitting patter.

Make an attractive beaded, braided Keyring or Bag Charm.
You’ll learn how to set up a disk for braiding, master two different braiding techniques, incorporate beads into the braid and complete the Keyring with a professional finish.
At the end of the workshop, you will be able to take away a finished braided Keyring or Bag Charm, plus a basic Kumihimo Kit in order to make another project at home.
Suitable for all abilities.

You'll learn the basics of handspinning on a drop spindle, including: making a leader, the importance of staple length and twist, and the park & draft technique.

Felt Wildly has collaborated with Joe's Toes to bring you a fabulous felty one-hour workshop! We've combined the 'Make Your Own' felt glasses case (RRP £9.50) with an all-you-need-to-know needle felting course. You'll be guided through all the basics of 2D needle felting while you custom design your very own glasses case!
Everything is provided for you to take away your finished item, along with a felting needle and extra wool to continue on your needle felting journey!
The workshop is run by Daisy Worth of Felt Wildly who is an experienced feltmaker and tutor.
COST: This workshop costs £15 which includes a 'Make Your Own' glasses case (RRP £9.50), a felting needle and extra wool to take home.

In this workshop, you’ll learn how to warp up a miniature circular loom and weave around the spokes to create a circular textile with a pretty veined pattern. This can then be used to create a button or combined with others to create a brooch, necklace or used as an embellishment. There’ll be time to make a few woven circles. A selection of hand dyed yarn will be available to choose from and all the equipment will be provided.

A fun couple of hours learning and making a wonderful wool wrag wreath. You’ll choose from a heart or round shaped wreath, and tie pre-cut strips of wool to create your own unique wreath to enjoy for years to come. All materials are provided. Suitable for all abilities.

Come and learn how to use felting needles and wool to make an adorable felted friend. During the class we will go through making the centre structure for your animal from core wool and how to decorate it using the coloured fibres provided. The kit included in the class has all you need to keep going at home and make some more animals. Includes the wool, tools for needle felting and printed instructions.

Have you been curious about knitting socks? Is this something you've wanted to try? Join Marianne with your DK sock yarn and 3.5mm or 4mm circular 80-100cm flexi cable needles to work magic loop and learn how to tackle some of the mysteries of sock knitting.
You'll learn elements of sock construction and we'll make progress on a mini sample during the time available. We'll also cover measuring your feet to understand how to knit socks to fit you. Techniques - Heel flap, short row shaping heel turn & gusset shaping.
To get the most out of the workshop, it would be helpful if you have an understanding of how to knit stocking stitch and experience of using flexible cable needles to work in the round with magic loop.

Join me for this workshop knitting with wire-looped flowers. These flowers can be made in many different sizes, they can be used in flower arrangements. Simple to make you must be able to cast on, knit and cast off. You will leave todays workshop with 3 flowers. There is no need to bring anything as everything is provided.

Make a beautiful flock of tiny sheep! You'll learn how to manipulate chenille stems (pipe cleaners) to form a structure for each sheep, like a sculptors armature. You'll then learn a wrapping technique using British wool tops to complete your sheep. Once you've completed your flock, you'll be shown a variety of ways to take your sheep further, such as making them into necklaces, bracelets, sheep strings, etc. as ornaments or gifts. The class is suitable for beginners, and children aged 10 or over if accompanied by a participating adult.

Spread some sunshine as you create these everlasting crochet sunflowers. During the workshop we'll stitch up our sunflowers ready to use them in a display or use it as an applique on bags or blankets. This workshop is suitable to crocheters with knowledge of the basic stitches (chain and treble crochet). You’ll receive: a printed colour workbook detailing the full pattern; yarn to complete your project; a 4mm crochet hook.

This is a beginners workshop for any knitter who wants to learn to knit with wire. You must be able to cast on, knit and cast off. We will be working with wire and beads. There is no need to bring anything as everything is provided. You will leave the workshop wearing your beautiful bracelet.

The traditional granny square uses trebles (US double crochet) and chains. These simple stitches can be combined with doubles (US single crochet) in many ways to create textured fabrics. You'll create a sampler of several different stitch patterns, or can start to create a phone pouch, depending on your level of competence, confidence and ability to follow written and/or chart patterns. DK wool, 4.5mm hook and handouts will be provided.
You must be confident in working the basic stitches. Being able to follow patterns in UK terminology is a distinct advantage, but we can work around this.
